By public transportation

Borba is well served by frequent and comfortable intercity National Express Bus. The bus stop is around 1km from us. For journey planning and timetables we suggest Rede Expressos (also in English).

Horta Vermelha is located in the immediate outskirts of the town of Borba. Matriz is one of the two parishes (freguesia) of Borba.

On the roundabout on the north-eastern entrance of town (on the Spain side), turn towards the road along the supermarket. You are 800m from Horta Vermelha.

You have the supermarket on your left, an old wall on your right (Quinta do General). Carry on along this country road, always straight ahead.

When you see cottages to your right with red stripes on the windows and bottom part of the walls, notice the cypress and an European nettle tree (or honeyberry). There is a first black gate. Carry on behind the Cottages, a few more meters along the road. On the next bigger black gate, you have the unmissable century-old cork-tree. You have arrived!
